The Package
Our open and close packages are robust. Here’s the details:
- Fill and Pressurize Water Systems
- Connect Power
- Ensure all Appliances are in Working Order
- General Property Check
Standard Cottage Close:
- Shut off main water supply
- Drain and winterize domestic plumbing lines
- Drain water heater and pressure tank, where applicable
- Winterize toilets, sinks, tubs, showers and plumbing traps
- Winterize exterior hose bibs and accessible outdoor water lines
- Winterize dishwasher, washing machine and refrigerator water connections where applicable
- Winterize water treatment system where applicable
- Set heating system to the agreed winter setting or shut down as directed
- Turn off unnecessary electrical circuits and unplug non-essential appliances
- Shut down refrigerators/freezers if requested
- Close and lock all windows and exterior doors
- Check smoke and CO alarms
- General interior and exterior visual inspection
- Check for obvious leaks, water damage, pests or maintenance concerns
- Take closing photos/documentation
- Lock and secure the property
- Set alarm/security system where applicable
